Company history
In November, 2006, Susan Bari stepped down from her role as the founding president of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council to become President Emeritus. In addition to her writing and a continuing advisory role to WBENC, she started The Susan Bari Company to provide her clients with the expertise gained starting, growing and managing organizations as well as her experience in the supplier diversity community.
Prior to her role as the founding architect of WBENC, Bari led the Federal Institute of Museum Services, served in the Reagan White House as Associate Director of Presidential Personnel and as the Chair of the Interagency Committee on Women Business Enterpise, was the founding director of the Washington Regional Training Center for the American Women's Economic Development Corporation and was an entrepreneur with businesses in both the consulting and manufacturing arenas.
After a life-long interest in real estate, Bari was recently licensed by New York State as a real estate salesperson and joned Bon New York.
Bari received her MBA from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech where she was a member of the Board of Visitors from 1998 -2002. She is a member of the Business Advisory Council for Pamplin where she serves on the International Business Committee and the Committee for the Capital Campaign.
Bari is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Women Presidents' Organization and the Business Advisory Council of the Pamplin College of Business (Virginia Tech).
